二日 // Futsuka // To dager

Da er det bara to dagar igjen te jeg rømmer landet! I think I'll be writing my blog in English so that more people/friends can access my life in Japan (the title is pretty easy to understand: "i" = in). I'll be taking the plane from Oslo to Stockholm to Doha (Qatar), and arrive in Osaka just before 6 pm local time on the 7th. The original itinerary didn't include Stockholm, but Qatar Airways suddenly added it for some reason.

Orientation starts the next day and lasts until the 19th or so, which means we'll have a lot of time to get settled. But I should already have chosen my electives by now, and I was pretty set on two courses (we have to choose two), but just discovered that they were more or less the only conflicting courses... But what I do know, is that I will take Japanese Linguistics as one of those, which is a given if you know me.

I've been sending some messages back and forth with my host family, too, and they seem really nice! I've even been invited to come to Tokyo and live with the oldest son of the family for a night or two! If I find the time, I feel certain that I want to take advantage of that offer. Right now, I'm not particularily nervous or excited, but I'm sure I will be when the day arrives. This reminds me of my exchange year in Texas. I didn't think about things too much until I was actually sitting on my new bed in the US, a little freaked out, haha.

But this is it for now! I will be updating this blog pretty frequently as it keeps my immediate maternal precursor from worrying and feeling the necessity to call.
