用事 // Yōji // Ting å gjøre

I guess it's to be expected (forventa), but there's so much that I've had to do these first to days of the orientation week. We met 8:45 am yesterday, Monday, and got introduced to our language partners later on. The school itself is really nice, too! I knew that it was going to be, but I couldn't have imagined exactly how nice! When we got there, we took two placement tests (kunnskapstrinn i japansk) for several hours, which were hard. They were supposed to be hard so that they could more accurately place us in our respective classes based on our level. Later, we met our language partners, who we can talk to this semester to practice our Japanese, and these two days, they also helped us with getting other things like a cell phone, residence card (oppholdsløyve) and commuter pass (banekort). That's why these last two days I've come home around 7 pm every evening after a long day of almost only speaking Japanese. It's really exhausting, but fun at the same time!

We'll be meeting up tomorrow at school as well, which I'm looking forward to! Not been homesick this time, but I am sure I can thank my AFS year for that - definitely. However, I also learned from that year that I should really enjoy these days before the tougher days of school start!
